OKLAHOMA CITY — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points in three quarters, Chet Holmgren swatted a season-high six shots, and the defending champion Thunder rolled past the Portland Trail Blazers 124-95 on Wednesday night at Paycom Center.
The victory extended Oklahoma City’s winning streak to three games and improved their record to 29-5. More significantly, Gilgeous-Alexander reached 20 points for the 105th consecutive game, moving closer to Wilt Chamberlain’s all-time record of 126 straight games.
Gilgeous-Alexander shot 11 of 15 from the field and went 7 for 7 at the free throw line while committing zero turnovers. He sat the entire fourth quarter with the game well in hand, finishing with six assists and four steals in just 29 minutes.
“Playing as a unit on that end of the floor, just being connected,” Holmgren said of the Thunder’s second-half defense that held Portland to 41 points. “We’re all flying around. When you do that, you can really speed teams up.”

Thunder Depth on Full Display
Seven Oklahoma City players scored in double figures. Ajay Mitchell produced the most efficient performance, going 4 for 4 from the field and a perfect 8 for 8 at the free throw line for 17 points off the bench.
Thunder coach Mark Daigneault praised the second-year guard’s ability to contribute on a championship-caliber team.
“He’s obviously a very talented player and a really impactful player, really efficient player,” Daigneault said. “It’s hard to establish yourself and be on the gas on a team that’s really good, a team that’s pretty established that you’re coming into. And he’s found an unbelievable blend.”

Holmgren Controls the Paint
Holmgren recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds, but his defensive presence dictated the game. The six blocked shots marked his highest total since April 2025 and continued a recent stretch of dominant rim protection.
The 7-footer has blocked 25 shots over his last eight games, averaging 3.1 swats per contest during that span. His ability to protect the basket without fouling allowed Oklahoma City to hold Portland to 39.1% shooting from the field.

Robert Williams III provided efficient production off the bench, shooting 4 for 4 for eight points with eight rebounds in 16 minutes. The Trail Blazers shot 40% from three-point range but couldn’t overcome their poor shot selection and ball security.
