We started Top Hill Sports because we were tired of the usual options: corporate sites that treat readers like traffic numbers, or hobby blogs that can’t tell the difference between reporting and fan fiction.
This is a newsroom based in Florida, run by people who’ve actually worked in newsrooms. Our founder, Yarnick Planken, has spent nine years covering stories across beats – local government, breaking news, community issues, and plenty of sports. He knows what good reporting looks like, and he knows when something’s being oversold or undercooked.
We cover it all – news, culture, human interest – but sports is where we dig deepest. NFL, NBA, MLB, international football, cricket, WNBA, and whatever else is worth your time. We’re not trying to replace ESPN or become the next viral content mill. We’re building something simpler: a site that covers stories accurately, writes them clearly, and doesn’t waste your time with clickbait or hot takes disguised as analysis.
We fact-check our work. We cite our sources. We correct mistakes when we make them. We don’t publish rumors as news or dress up press releases as original reporting.
